Privacy at a Glance
Fishtime processes all camera data locally on your device. No video is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. We don't collect personal data, don't use analytics, and don't share anything with third parties.
Camera Usage
Fishtime uses your Mac's camera for face detection to automatically detect when you look away from the screen during break reminders. This feature:
- Only activates when a fish bites (every 20 minutes during active sessions)
- Processes all video data locally on your device in real-time
- Never records, stores, or transmits any video or images
- Uses on-device machine learning through Apple's Vision framework
Data We Don't Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Video footage or images from your camera
- Personal identification information
- Usage analytics or behavior tracking
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Crash logs or diagnostic data (unless explicitly opted in through Apple)
Local Data Storage
Fishtime stores only minimal app preferences locally on your device using Apple's standard UserDefaults system:
- Timer duration preferences
- Sound/vibration settings
- Window position and size
This data never leaves your device and is never synced to any server.
Third-Party Services
Fishtime does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics providers, advertising networks, or data processors. The app operates entirely independently.
App Store Data
When you download Fishtime from the Mac App Store, Apple may collect certain data as described in their privacy policy. This includes:
- Purchase and download information
- App usage statistics (if you have enabled App Analytics in System Settings)
- Crash reports (if you have enabled sharing with app developers)
We only receive aggregated, anonymized crash reports through Apple's standard developer tools. We have no access to your Apple ID or personal information.
Children's Privacy
Fishtime is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Fishtime after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
